Tissue‐resident regulatory T cells accumulate at human barrier lymphoid organs

چکیده

Regulatory T cells (Tregs) play a critical role in immune regulation and peripheral tolerance. While different types of Tregs have been identified both mice humans, much our understanding about how these maintain homeostasis is derived from animal models. In this study, we examined two distinct human lymphoid organs to understand repeated exposure infections at the mucosal surface influences phenotype tissue localization Tregs. We show that while tonsils spleen express tissue-resident phenotype, they accumulate greater numbers tonsils. Tonsillar-resident exhibit highly suppressive with significantly increased expression CD39, ICOS CTLA-4 compared their counterparts circulation or spleen. Functionally, resident are able effectively suppress cell proliferation. further demonstrate tonsillar-resident share key features follicular helper cells. Spatial analysis reveals vast majority localized border T-zone B follicle, as well within lymphocyte pockets enriched memory Together findings suggest strategically co-localized sites recurrent inflammation.

Regulatory T Cells in Colorectal Cancer

One of the essential protection mechanisms of immune system is Treg cells which play an important role in maintenance ofimmune homeostasis. However, they may also inhibit immune functions against tumor cells. It has been reported that Treg cellsare increased in patients suffering from different types of cancer. Increased number of Treg cells has been shown in tumor lymphnodes, peripheral blood,...

CXCR3+ T regulatory cells selectively accumulate in human ovarian carcinomas to limit type I immunity.

Antitumor type I T-cell responses involving IFN-γ production are critical to control cancer, but the efficacy of this response is limited by a variety of immunosuppressive mechanisms that promote tumoral immune escape. One critical mechanism involves the accumulation of FOXP3(+) T regulatory cells (Treg), a class of suppressive T cells that prevent excessive tissue destruction caused by uncheck...

Compartmentalization of Total and Virus-Specific Tissue-Resident Memory CD8+ T Cells in Human Lymphoid Organs

Disruption of T cell memory during severe immune suppression results in reactivation of chronic viral infections, such as Epstein Barr virus (EBV) and Cytomegalovirus (CMV). How different subsets of memory T cells contribute to the protective immunity against these viruses remains poorly defined. In this study we examined the compartmentalization of virus-specific, tissue resident memory CD8+ T...

T Helper Cells Profile and CD4+CD25+Foxp3+Regulatory T Cells in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is considered as the most common cause of female infertility that affects 4-10% of women in the reproductive age. Previous studies have shown the role of a balanced immune response in a successful pregnancy and fertility. Objective: To investigate the T helper cells type 1 (Th1) /Th2/Th17/Treg paradigms in peripheral blood of infertile PCOS compared ...

Dissecting the Requirement for Secondary Lymphoid Organs in Peripheral Regulatory T-Cell Development

ntestinal mucosal immunity requires the ability to Iinduce a proinflammatory response to clear invasive pathogens while also maintaining self-tolerance in the face of continuous immune activation by luminal contents. Regulatory T cells (Tregs) expressing the transcription factor Foxp3 promote immunologic homeostasis by suppressing dendritic cells and effector T-cell responses through the produc...
